Welcome to the new www.MichaelMarlborough.com site!
This site showcases my Fine Art Photographic work, the majority of which being figure work / nudes. From the time I became interested in photography the nude as subject matter has been my main focus.
With 2009 closing it marks the 20th year for my photography of the nude!
This year I also celebrate 10 years online. With a new website having the finishing touches added and lots of new work to post 2010 is looking like a busy year.
If you have any feedback on the new site please drop me a message and let me know your thoughts. |
October 2009 - "Show Some Skin" - First solo exhibition
"Show Some Skin" is my first solo exhibition which is running during October 2009 in North Melbourne, from September 27th through to 24th October.
The exhibition showcases twenty images from the past ten years worth of work.
Included are works from the X-Mas Nudes Project which get produced annually and mailed around the world to a growing number of collectors. The gallery for the remainder of this project will be online in December 2009 when the latest addition to the series is published.
Also on show are images produced from 2008 in Joshua Tree National Park, California. Working both in the landscape and a portable studio these images show the direction my work is moving into the future.
You can see the exhibition images
here
.
The Melbourne Fringe Festival is on at the same time as "Show Some Skin" so if you're in North Melbourne or surrounds for the Fringe drop in for a look.
The exhibition is being held in Rrose Bar, 7 Errol Street, North Melbourne. You can view their site here. |

September 2009 - New website goes live!
After several years of toying with new website layouts and systems for easily maintaining on online presence in early 2009 I settled on Joomla! I now have a fantastic framework for maintaining the website, adding content and the theme / layout I'm using has some great features too.
I'll have more details online about updates and new features when I have a few of the new galleries online later in 2009.
If you have any feedback on the new site drop me a message. |

August 2009 - Printing the show
For my upcoming exhibition "Show Some Skin" I will be showing gicleé prints produced in my studio on an Epson 9600.
Most of my work is black & white and printing with the Epson posed some challenges. I needed to overcome the colour tinting that can be seen in straight prints from the included software.
By utilising QuadTone RIP from Roy Harrington I was able to produce prints that surpassed my expectations! Check the links to read more on this great software package. |
